So Many Cards

 Hi All,

I'm bombarding you again with a bunch of cards I've made recently!

I'll start with the one I made for today's Inspiration Challenge over on SCS.  The website is "Greenheart" and I chose this cute bird plate as my inspiration.  I "thought" it was a good choice for a quick, CAS card that I could use some of my new K&Company stickers on, but noooooh!!  It took on a life of it's own and consequently took me all morning long!

The card ended up with 8 layers, a punched and dry embossed flower, a small rosette, the bird sticker and some dimensionals between the layers.

The next photo is of some of the Easter Cards I made.  Using my fav TH rossettes, I attached them to a card base, stamped a bunny ($1 bin stamp!) onto coordinating DP, and added heart rhinestones.  Super quick.

The next photo is of a couple of First Holy Communion cards I made using vellum stickers.  I have had that sheet of stickers forever - Dollar Store find so I couldn't pass them up when I found them years ago, but never used them until now.

Lastly, my favorite.  Some of you "oldie" stampers may remember, "back in the day", before "Movers and Shapers" dies became a hot item, we had those small, thick Sizzix green dies.

It occurred to me that they work exactly the same way as the Movers and Shapers dies, but without the base plate that is needed to keep them magnetized to the base.  Duh.  Anyhow, I don't have nearly the number of those green dies that I used to, but I did keep some (yay for the hoarder in me!). And there's lots of them for sale on e-Bay for about $2.50 - $3.00 ea.
To make the card, I cut out a white panel, positioned the die three different times on the CS and ran it through my Big Shot. The reason these thick dies work better for this technique than the thin wafer-type dies is because they don't leave a square impression around the negative piece that is left.

I positioned my DP pieces on the base so that a different piece would show through each negative space and then popped up the panel dimensionals.  The DP in the background is KaiserCraft Peachy Keen collection that Stephanie (aka SmilinStef) gave me. Thanks Stephanie!!  So love that pad and those colors!!

Woodware Challenge -- Sketch!

This week's Woodware USA Challenge is a fun and easy sketch!

I used two sizes of Nestabilities Blossoms #2 dies to create texture in the card base, then used the same dies as masks and stippled Blue Bayou ink to create the left strip for the sketch.  I covered the inked portion of the "strip" with two-way glue and sprinkled hologram glitter over it.

My main image is from Woodware USA's "Christian Celebrations" set A great set that covers Baptisms, Christenings, Communion, Confirmations, and Weddings!!  The words in the set all come as separate stamps so you can create any sentiment you want, depending on the celebration.  This is going to be a very useful set for me!!  I'm so pleased with the versatility of this set!!

Hope you'll join the challenge this week!  You don't have to use Woodware stamps, but by joining in you could win your own set!!  Check out the Woodware Blog for details and check out the other DT's samples for this week's Sketch Challenge!!

Jesus is the Reason!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Here's my card for the Featured Stamper Challenge over on SCS this week.  Congrats to Tobi (aka Jazzytobi), well deserved!!  I chose her "CASDT09FALL01" card to case!!  A perfect CAS design for a holiday card that you want to make multiples of!

I kept her layout but used materials I had on hand to create my version.  (SU! Kraft CS, Craft White ink and Striped Ribbon.   Sentiment by Stampabilities.)

Wonderful inspiration Tobi!  Congratulations

Garden in My Pocket Card

Working the Challenges here friends!!

This is a pocket card for Flourishes Look Who’s 3 Challenge -- make a birthday card honoring Flourishes;   Flourishes Bring Back Beauty Challenge -- go with a "Rustic" theme, The Flower Soft Blog Hop Challenge -- use your fav color(s) Flower soft, and Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge -- Forgotten Embellishments: Buttons, Brads or Eyelets

The pocket card houses a book mark clip which I now think I should have made a refrigerator magnet.  But oh well.  I made the flower with Sizzix Flowers Die #2 and used a canvas brad by Recollections to hold them together.  I added a few fern branches made with a Punch Bunch fern punch for some greenery.

For my "rustic" theme, I chose the watering can image from ODBD Happy Birthday set, colored it with Copics and embellished with Flower Soft and Stickles. The little butterfly was punched from MS Butterfly trio punch in blue CS and covered with blue glitter.

I used "Heather" Flower Soft which is not only my fav FS combo so far, but it matched perfectly!

And finally, I also punched out a Trelis border across the back of the pocket card along with some more fern branches, which I attached to the trellis, to kind of give it a garden-style look.

Happy News, New Product, New Card!

Supplies: ODBD "Refuse and Strength", SU "Inspired by Nature", SU River Rock and White CS, Nestibilities, Copics, silver half-back pearls
Hi All, So much blogging to do, so little time!! This card is for a few challenges I've been stalking plus the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS. This week the gorgeous gallery of JovialJudi is being featured! I chose to case her "Winter Chickadee" card because it was lovely, simple and was focused on a bird! I have been anxious to ink up the cute little bird from my new "You Will Find Refuge" set from ODBD! The scripture in this set is one of my favorites, I have a banner hanging in my bedroom that has the same scripture so I'm happy to be able to share it in cards to friends now! It also seemed to be a good image to use more of my new "SparklyFluff" product from Our Craft Lounge that I got at CHA. I used the white "Sugar" color. It's sprinkled on the little bird's breast. This is such pretty stuff, a great texture for cards. I only used it sparingly, but it still has a wonderful effect IRL. It's so soft and touchable!! Like velvet or fur, and it doesn't crumble off when you rub it! It also has a wonderful sparkle to it, not overwhelming but definitely visible at first glance and draws your eye to it. Not sure if you can see it here, click on the image for a closer look. Finally, the card needed to have some distressing somewhere on it to qualify for Paper Sundaes "Distress" Challenge. So I used the Rock and Roll technique on the sentiment to make it appear like it was fading. The challenges I combined using this card are: 1.) Featured Stamper #159 - Jovial Judy "Winter Chickadee" case 2.) Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake Challenge #47 -- soft blues, beige cupcakes 3.) Quirky Crafts Challenge #22 -- Theme is "Cute" 4.) Paper Sundae #6 -- Theme is "Distress" And!! My happy news...!! I will be creating designs for The Frantic Stamper! I applied for this DT way back in April of last year!! Fran was busy building her new store warehouse so she could fill it with wonderful goodies!! (Check out the FranticStamper Blog to see photos of it and the DT announcement!!) So now that the new warehouse is ready, the DT has been put in place!! I was thrilled to get the email!! I am looking forward to working with my fellow DT members and all the loads of fun product!! The fun begins on March 7! TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!
