I Made Tea Cup Rings

One of my fav things to do when I'm not paper crafting is bargain hunting at Estate Sales!  Yes, it's an obsession with me.  Estate Sales.  I check them out almost every weekend looking for items that are vintage, old, and anything I can re-purpose.  (NOT that I actually ever get around to re-purposing them, but I DO collect them just the same!! ) LOL!!

One of the many many things that I've come across were some mini, ceramic tea sets.  And little bag of ring blanks (I don't know if that's what they're called but they are rings with no focal piece so you can glue something to them to turn them into rings!!)  So one weekend I put them both together and wa-la!!  I made Tea Cup Rings.

I sent them to my sisters and mom for Christmas, and they loved them.  My mom wore hers to church and her friend loved it and asked my mom if I would make some for her.  Of course!  She "ordered" 8 o them!  So I sent her the 8 rings and included a matching "pin" for her friend as a thank-you.  And then she ordered 6 of the pins!
I started making her 6 pins, but by now I was out of the little tea cups from the sets I had, so I used the little pitchers and sugar bowls that were with the sets.  When I ran out of those, I went ahead and put a few little "saint" trinkets on the pins instead of tea cup pieces.  I'm told she was thrilled with them, thank goodness, and plans to "order" some for Easter!  Wow, talk about the accidental businessman (gal)!

A Fast Card!

This card uses a "Noel" circle sticker from a $1.00-dimensional-stickers pack by "Pooch & Sweetheart" from Michael 's. I followed Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #105 found here. There's no stamping on this card. The purple DP is BG Wisteria and the gold colored is a metallic gold sheet of AC Specialty paper embossed with Cuttlebug EF. The ribbon is Christmas ribbon from last year and a little bell charm from who knows where !! TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

How Do You Hang Your Charms??

This is cased from the gallery of today's Featured Stamper over on SCS -- Joanne (aka Jojot). I love her style, her card sketches and coloring are so clean and easy on the eye. Her gallery is amazing! I chose to CASE her "Garden Borders" card. I kept to her layout and color scheme and even added a charm; but everything else is changed. There's no way I could recreate that fabulous border so I sort of just faked it with a Fiskars border punch and Martha's Loopy Corner punch (I used the negative of the loopy punch). I used a stamp I have that I had never used until today -- "Mod Garden" by Judikins s (side note to Joan Ervin -- do you remember this one??!!) and a bird image from Birds Galore by Inkadinkado. The ribbon is a scrap that I had, I can't believe I don't have black ribbon. Hmmm. Do I need to go to Michael's??? While I was adding the charm to the ribbon, I wondered what other methods people use to hang their charms on their cards?? I used to struggle with that task until I came across a spool of this stretchy clear cord that I don't know why I have or where I got it from! It's strong enough to be threaded through the ribbon knots and buttons and other small holes when I need to hang something but don't want it visible. And it's stretchy, so once you've knotted it, it stays tight. You, of course, can see it if you're looking for it (like here in this photo -- click on the photo to see it up close); but otherwise, it works pretty well. What do you all do?? How do you hang your charms?? Hope you're enjoying your weekend!! I'm so glad you stopped by!
