Collage Card

Hello Friends!

I have another Heartfelt Creations card using the Everyday Heroes Collection!  I am just eating up all my supplies from this collection, I almost hated to move on to the next one until I saw it... which BTW comes next week!!  And not to be cruel -- but it is so unique and fabulous, you are going to LOVE it!!  It's unlike any of the other releases from HC so far!  You'll just have to come back and see for yourself!!  ;)

Meanwhile, I used several different elements from the Everyday Heroes Collection to make the collage for this card.  I created the background by randomly stamping the script stamp in Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip ink.

From the paper collection, I selected a large tag, the combat boots postage stamp, and a smaller tag for the card front.  I distressed and layered them with red cardstock.  I also stamped and die cut the images from the Newsprint Cling Stamp Set (the arrow and newsprint) as well as the circle piece from the You Inspire Me Cling Stamp Set. I assembled all my pieces and parts, along with some embellishments from my stash (clips, stars, twine), and that was it!  Had a lot of fun with this one!

Here's the HC products I used on this card:

HCDP1-253 Everyday Hero Paper Collection
HCD1-761 Everyday Heroes Die
HCPC-3665 Everyday Hero Newsprint Cling Stamp Set
HCPC-3666 Everyday Hero Cling Stamp Set
HCPC-3664 My Hero Cling Stamp Set

And here's a link to the Heartfelt Creations Blog post this week -- you'll find step by step details for my card there plus some amazing projects and lots more inspiration by those crazy talented ladies from the HC Design Team!

Eveyday Hero Mirror to Match the Card!

Hi All,

Here's Part II of the card I made from last week's post.  It's a mirror that I made using a clear acrylic photo frame -- the kind you get at your Dollar Store or HL that are meant for photos but we crafty types use them for post-it note holders, little calendar stands, (and mirrors!) etc.!

To create the mirror, I inserted my paper in the frame, attached a round mirror (purchased from Hobby Lobby in a package of 6), and created a frame for the little mirror piece with HC stamps and die from the Everyday Heroes collection.

I added the flowers in the corner to match the ones on my card. You can find my step by step instructions on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today!

HC Products used on this project:
HCD1-758 Botanical Wings Die
HCPC-3651 Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set
HCD1-761 Everyday Heroes Die
HCPC-3666 Everyday Hero Cling Stamps
HCDP1-253 Everyday Hero Paper Collection

There's lots more projects and inspiration (and a new video from Emma Lou!) to be found on the HC blog today!  You'll be amazed at the DT's creations!!  I'm always in awe of their work, it's such an honor to be on the same team, all these months later and I still can't believe it!!

Thank you all so much for stopping by, I'm so glad you came!

You Are My Everyday Hero -- and Some News to Share!

Hi All,

I soooo love Everyday Heroes collection!  The colors in the pallet are so gorgeous together.  My sample for this week's post shows how this seemingly masculine collection can be used for the opposite gender too!

Super simple -- the paper does all the work!  The background and sentiment are from the Everyday Heroes paper collection, just one 5-3/4" square panel.  I stamped and embossed the leaves and flowers in gold embossing powder onto more of the paper from the paper collection and die cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I did just a little bit of shaping (I didn't even layer the flowers this time) and added some copper colored German Glass Glitter and that was it!!

There's a matching mirror to go with this card but that will be next week!!  All in good time... :)

The Heartfelt Creations products I used on this card:
HCD1-758 Botanical Wings Die
HCPC-3651 Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set
HCDP1-253 Everyday Hero Paper Collection
And on another note (the "news"), if you're a regular over on Splitcoast Stampers website, then this will make sense to you!  Today is my "big reveal" day as one of the new "Dirty Dozen" for the next 6 months!!  It's a thrill and an honor for me since I spent just about all of my formative stamping years over there!!  It is my home sweet "stamping" home and I am overjoyed to be inducted into the Dirt Pile!!  My work will be featured along with 11 other very talented ladies once a month for the paying public! Yup, you gotta pay the dues to see the artwork LOL!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I hope you found it worth your while as I am grateful you took the time to visit!

Everyday Heroes - New Collection Release!

Hi Friends!

Today Heartfelt Creations is debuting the “Everyday Hero’s Collection”!  This is truly a favorite of mine!  I absolutely loved working with the color palette and creating with a collection with a masculine influence!  But the most awesome part of this collection is that the “Everyday Heroes Collection" can easily be used for any and every “hero” in your life – including parents, spouses, family and friends!!  The official product description describes the collection perfectly:
“Do you have an unsung hero in your life?  Your champion may never have a medal pinned to his or her chest, but you can demonstrate your gratitude with the Everyday Heroes Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  These epic stamps, dies and papers salute the extraordinary "ordinary people" who inspire us as they live their daily lives with honor and integrity. Greys, teals, khakis, creams and browns have been blended with distressed newsprint, vintage maps, globes, sailing ships, timepieces, combat boots, stripes, dots and flourishes to create a rugged, paper collection that is timeless in its appeal.  Six deeply etched cling stamp sets featuring detailed collages, inspiring sentiments and unique circular elements mesh perfectly with the paper collection and matching set of dies.  Let's sing the praises of the unsung heroes in our lives with the Everyday Heroes Collection from Heartfelt Creations!”

For this card I used the “My Anchor” cling stamp set as my focal point.  I stamped it onto a white cardstock panel and  sponged on TH Distress Inks to color the image.  Next I chose some designer paper from the Everyday Heroes Paper collection and tore and distressed the edges.  I attached my image at an angle onto the distressed panel.  I mounted both panels to a card base covered with more paper from the Paper Collection.

To create a dimensional anchor, I stamped just the corner of the same "My Anchor" image onto black cardstock, covered it with some Clear Wink of Stella marker and die cut it out using the coordinating Anchor die that comes with the collection.  I adhered the die cut piece over the stamped anchor on the front of the card and covered it with Glossy Accents.
I finished my card by adding a nautical charm, gold twine and red stickles for a touch of sparkle on the flags!

Here is a list of the products from the "Everyday Heroes Collection" that I used:
HCPC 3662 - My Anchor Cling Stamp Set
HCDP1-253 Everyday Hero Paper Collection
HCD1-761 Everyday Heroes Die

I hope you get a chance to check out the HC Blog today!!  You’ll LOVE all the different projects the Design Team came up with using the new Everyday Heroes Collection!!

Butterfly Garden Card

Hello and Happy Easter Week!!

Today I'm sharing a card that looks alot more complicated than it is! I even kind of suprised myself when it was done (LOL!) because it hardly took any time to make! I created it for this week's Heartfelt Creations Blog Post which you can see here.

I started with this really pretty Spellbinders card background die (Nestabilities Card Creator Dies - 5 x 7 Mystical Embrace) and die cut 3 panels from white cardstock.  I die cut a 4th panel from designer paper.  I scored one of the white die cut panels about 3/4" from the top, added glue to the area above the score line, and adhered it to a second white panel to form my card base.

I then glued the designer paper panel over the card base, and finally adhered the third white panel on top of the designer paper with foam dimensional squares. I lightly sponged on some purple ink to the top white die cut panel.

Once the card base was ready, I cut a sentiment strip from the designer paper and curled it with the edge of my scissors - like you would for curling ribbon on a package.  I threaded it in its curled shape between the top two layers of the card base and glued it down at the points where it made contact with my card base.

Next I die cut and shaped my Heartfelt Creations flowers, leaves and butterflies, attached them as shown - pretty random.  And that was it!

It's amazing what happens when you use HC products!  I'm always so pleased with the results, I hope it inspires your own creativity!! And speaking of inspiration - you must check out the Heartfelt Creations Blog this week!! So many gorgeous projects!!  The Design Team has hit their stride with amazing creations!!
