Altered Spice Rack

Hi Friends!

I have another project using the Farmers Market Collection from Heartfelt Creations today!  I had a lot of fun altering this vintage style, ceramic spice rack that I found at a yard sale awhile ago.  It was incomplete; it normally would have had a little ceramic spice jar in each of the cubby holes (like the one shown in the photo on the left), so it was a bargain that only a crafter would love!

To begin, I painted the shelving with white "Lace" Chalk ink from the Vintage Market and Design Store (my favorite store in my home town Albuquerque!), and the three spice drawers with "Blue Heron" Chalk Ink.

I lined the surfaces with different patterns of paper from the Farmers Market paper collection and fussy cut out several images from the collection to use on the project.

I die cut jars from craft aluminum sheets and vines from green cardstock using the stamps and matching dies from the collection.

I attached all the elements with Wellbond All Purpose adhesive and used some styrofoam "cubes" that I just hand cut from packaging material to stand the elements up and towards the front of the cubby holes.

I finished the spice rack with some lace trim and faux pearls as accents.

Run on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog!  There's some amazing altered projects and cards for you to see!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

What a gorgeous project! I love the chalk paint finish on the cabinet...it's perfect. Then all the little treasures you created to tuck in are so dear. What a wonderful transformation! I bet you hated to pack this one off to the home office! It's gorgeous!

Anne, I love love love this! It's sheer perfection! I love the chalk paint, the way you've used the papers and the little images you've tucked inside! Don't you just love it when you find an item that's ready for retirement and you can make it over and give it new life! Well done my friend, well done!
