Today's Heartfelt Creations project is a table candle centerpiece! I used a 2-1/2" white pillar candle and an empty Laughing Cow Cheese container to make my display. So if you happen to have those handy, you're all set to follow along!!
I started by decorating my candle by stamping my images onto white tissue paper. I used my heat gun and wax paper to adhere them to the side of the candle. As the candle warms with the heat, the tissue images sort of become embedded into the wax. The technique can be found on many YouTube videos including this one that I used when I first learned how to do this years ago: Stamping on Candles.
Once the candle was prepared, I created the base for the display. I wrapped a strip of decorative paper around the side of the cardboard container, then glued the candle to the center of the top. I cut two strips of 2" x 12" patterned paper and scored them every 1/4". I accordion folded them and glued the ends together to form a cylinder. Then I laid the cylinder around the candle and laid it flat to make a skirt around the candle and glued it
down with hot glue.
Next I stamped, die cut and shaped all my daisies and butterflies and glued them all to the centerpiece. I added a couple of Karen Foster Starburst Brads to finish the design.
All the step by step instructions (in excruciating detail lol!) can be found on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today! I hope you get a chance to visit the website, you'll find so much inspiration and tons of eye candy!
TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!
