Filigree Bow Cards

Hi Friends,

These cards are made featuring a couple of Filigree dies I recently purchased from an Etsy Shop called PNW Crafts. I stumbled across them while searching for the bow die because it happens to be hard to find right now since it's not made in the US.  This shop had one left, along with quite a few other goodies, that I loved so much I ended up making a pretty large purchase.  (oops!)  The stuff came in 2 days!  I'm telling you, you can't get better service! "Shout Out" to PNW Crafts!!

The baby card is made with the small filigree bow designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  The die set comes with dies to make two sizes of bows and accent ribbon.  Additional dies used were Marianne Creatables LR0269 lattice dome and 0218 baby carriage dies. I embossed texture on the bottom of the front panel with an EF and accented the bow with a decorative button.

 The birthday card is made using two of the large-sized bows in the set.  I made one complete bow and adhered it to the card, then I made a second bow and cut it in half and adhered one half to each side of the first bow to give the illusion of a double bow. I accented the bow with a small white flower. 


The circle doily is made using Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses set (which I also got from PNW Crafts).  The sentiment and frilly stamped frame in the center is Just Rite Designs "You Inspire Me" stamp set.  I finished off the embellishing with some rose-colored pearls scattered around the design.

2013 Christmas Cards

These are Christmas cards I've made for my Etsy Shop.  It's almost overwhelming anymore to narrow it down to just a few that you want to make for the holidays!  I have stuck to some simple die-cutting and assembly for these ones!

This first card is one in a series of three that I've made so far -- all basically the same but different cardstock and patterned papers.

The poinsettia is created with Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia die.  Love this die because it is a large die that will cut through multiple layers at once so it only requires one run-through on my Big Shot to cut all the pieces. 

I used a stylus to create a crease line in each of the blossom leaves then pinched them along the crease to create a partial fold in each leaf.  This gives the flower the great dimension it has.

The stamens in the middle came in a box that I got from Michaels; they come already clustered like that so they are perfect for this flower.  The glittery leaves were cut from a decorative pick that all the hobby and craft stores have piled up!

The background chalkboard-style patterned paper is by "Me and My Big Ideas" that I purchased as a single sheet from Hobby Lobby.

The tree branch in the back is Memory Box, the snowman is made with a Basic Grey "Snowmen #2" die by Sizzix, and the sentiment is from Just Rite Clear "Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments".

Yea, I haven't posted recently but that doesn't mean I haven't been card-making!  I do admit, it's been far less than usual though. So here to get you caught up on several that I have made since my last post are 10 of them!

Thanks to my sweet friend Paulette for my awesome new SU punch that she gave me while I was recuperating from a recent surgery!  I love it, and made the first two cards here with it as soon as I was able to get back into my craft room! The DP is from DCWV 6x6 Colorful Life stack.

This heart card uses the "Two of Hearts" die by Cheery Lynn Designs.  All the dies from this company are so delicate!  I picked up several from a Stamp Convention a few months ago and have been using them ever since. 

 

The big flower here was made using Spellbinders "Rose Creations" die set.  The swirl is two Maya Road chipboard pieces.

 

This card was inspired by some postings on Pinterest.  (Please tell me you're signed up on Pinterest by now??!!!)  The butterfly is another Cheery Lynn die, and the little lady bug on the leaf embellishment has been in my stash since the day I started hoarding collecting.  Back then, I didn't keep the packaging so I really don't know who the manufacturer is.

 

This card uses "Jubilee" chipboard pieces from K&Company.

This card and the next card use more of those awesome Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  The one above uses the "Victorian Romance Flourish" and "Exotic Butterflies Small #2".  (Hey, I made those little dimensional flowers using Prima Milk Bottle flowers - see this post here for a better explanation -- scroll towards the bottom of the post!)

The dies used on this card are the "Exotic Butterflies Small #2" die along with "Exotic Butterfly Medium #1" and "Pair of Ferns" die.  Ladies, never hesitate to pick up any of these dies if you find them!  As delicate as the die cuts are, they work really well in the Big Shot and are easy to remove from the die once they're cut.  A really well-made product!  And way too many to chose from LOL!!

Finally, this card is all punching and embellishments.  A big Prima flower, May Road chipboard swirl, scallop boarders with scrap papers and twine.

Baby's First Christmas

Supplies: A Muse Mouse, Copics, SU Acetate CS, White and Bazzil CS, Cuttlebut EF, Martha Stewart Border Punch, velvet Ribbon

Had on my list to make a special "Baby's First Christmas" card for a close friend that had a baby boy this year. The adorable website for the IC this week is Oliebollen! It's all about kids so I knew this was the perfect place to get inspiration for my card! I chose this cute Margot and Mo Playsuit. The mice reminded me of the tiny Santa Mouse A Muse Stamp I had so that's how this one came about. It worked nicely with the Saturday Spotlight Challenge for this week as well -- creating a card that included a hat! The blue panel is punched around the border with MS border punch and layered onto SU snowflake acetate. Just a little blue velvet bow to finish it off and keep it simple!! A Card for Max!!

Supplies: SU Baja Breeze, Soft Sky textured paper, white CS. Cuttlebug border EF, SU Soft Sky doublestitched ribbon. Stamps used are Studio G Dollar Stamps from Michaels.

This was a card I made for my friend from work, that I've never met. Julie had a baby boy on June 7th under life threatening conditions. She was due late July. It is beyond words the miracles that began to unfold when she was suddenly taken to the emergency room the day of her baby shower. She ended up having open heart surgery and delivering her baby boy prematurely. The story has a happy ending though, both mom and baby Max are well on their way to full happy lives. The two are actually now famous, film crews came to her home recently to interview her and document the story. I don't know when it will be aired, or under what format, I just know that her case was highly life threatening, rare and miraculous. BTW, Julie works out of the New Jersey office for the company I work for and we got to know each other through email, so like most of you that I've never met out here in cyberspace, I've never met her either!! Little Pink Elephant

I am totally impressed with this week's Featured Stamper, Lori (aka Versamom), who also has a wonderful blog "Stamp Scents" . I could have almost closed my eyes and picked a card, any card, to case, every one was so pretty and creative. I finally had to choose one, and I liked the ruffle on this one "Little Yellow Giraffe" so thought I'd give it a try.

Inchie Invasion!!

Today is Belli Challenge day! Chris challenged us to use Inchies on our cards. I had no idea what an Inchie was, so I was very curious and excited to learn something completely new! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that these little cuties are fun, fast, easy and can be used on just about any project! So I set out to make a "few" and just kept going and going...
