Poppies in a Pocket

Happy Wednesday Friends!

I have a new Blazing Poppies card to share today.  Heartfelt Creations  and Art Anthology are sharing products this week, so our Design Team has been provided some of their products to use on our cards and projects this week!

My card features Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint in "Black Leather Jacket".  A super thick, shinny, glittery medium that is awesome for creating flower centers on bright red poppies!

I started with a card panel from the Blazing Poppies paper collection that features a jean pocket.  I used my Gyro-cut tool to quickly cut away the pocket, then added foam tape to the back of the pocket piece, and replaced it back on the panel.  Used a button from my stash to accent the pocket.

Next I created my poppies and leaves using the stamps and coordinating dies from the Blazing Poppies collection and colored the blossoms with bright red Copic Markers.  Once assembled, I dropped in some of the black Sorbet paint into the centers and let them dry.  All that was left was to glue the finished blossoms and leaves onto the card.

The Heartfelt Creations Products I used on this card:

Blazing Poppy Paper Collection
Blazing Poppy Petals Cling Stamp Set
Blazing Poppy Die
Delightful Daisy Die
Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set
Heartfelt Sentiments Cling Stamp Set
Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit
Art Institute Glue - Dries Clear
Memento Dye Ink Pad - Tuxedo Black

Shiny Pink Poppies!

Hello Friends!

Another happy Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  The Design Team has created so many amazing projects this week, I hope you'll check out the HC Blog out to see what's there!

My card today features the Blazing Poppies Collection.  My favorite thing about this collection is how big the larges flower is that you can die cut!  It makes gorgeous big blooms and they "graduate" all the way down to sweet smaller ones.

I went with a pink theme on this card.  I used a card panel from the paper collection as my base, a Spellbinders die for a lacy-loopy layer, and then added my stamped and die-cut flowers and foilage.

The shiny-ness of the blossoms come from painting the shaped blossom with Angel Craft Podge.  A very cool semi-gloss, mod-podge type product that results in a perfectly glossy, light weight finish (so your flowers hold their shape). It goes on clear and, my favorite part, comes with a brush attached to the lid so you don't need any tools that need washing up afterwards!  **Big thanks to Marcie from CutatHome for supplying this awesome product for me to try out!  Giant thumbs up everyone!!

We're soaking wet here in Texas and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Great American Scrapbook Convention scheduled to start tomorrow isn't affected... would love to see you there if you're going too!

TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Amazing Blazing Poppies Collection!

Hello Everyone!

This just never gets old for me, I hope not for you either!  The Heartfelt Creations Team is featuring a new release today!  The Blazing Poppies Collection:
"Has the humdrum of the daily grind sapped your energy and stunted your creative mojo?  Rejuvenate your creativity with the saturated colors and resplendent artwork of the Blazing Poppies Collection of stamps, dies and designer papers from Heartfelt Creations.  Escape to verdant fields where dancing poppies sway like ballerinas wearing dramatic hues of blush, coral, peach, scarlet and ebony.  Let this glorious canvas of flowing script, heirloom lace, ornate flourishes, flower laden arbors, bold stripes and soft neutral backgrounds enliven your senses and awaken your inner Van Gogh.  The Blazing Poppy stamp and die allows you to fashion bold, life-like poppies in every size and color.  You'll design museum worthy backgrounds, card focals, layouts and home décor with the sumptuous stamps and paper collection.  Create your own masterpiece, and spark your imagination with the amazing artistry and uncommon brilliance of Blazing Poppies."

My first card is a shaker card that is pretty simple and features a new border stamp from the collection.  I stamped and colored my image, created the shaker box and added my sequence to create the card.

My next card features more of the gorgeous poppies and this time I was inspired by the amazing Paper Collection from this release.  I stamped, colored and shaped the poppies; adhered them to the card base and added my sentiment.  The HC products always make it so easy to create quick and amazing cards!

Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see the Blazing Poppies intro video that includes great ideas for shaping your flowers!  Also on the blog, you'll find some of the most amazing card and project samples using this collection!!

Please stop by again soon!  I have several more cards to share in the upcoming weeks!
Have a blessed week my friends!

I Will Always Love You

Hi Friends!

I have been wanting to make a card using HC Cut Mat Create Paper Collection for quite awhile but just hadn't had the chance.  So I finally got it out for this week's card and was once again overwhelmed and in awe of how gorgeous the papers are! The color palette is just awesome! There's so much to choose from, I wanted to stay up all night just using this collection!

I finally chose this 6" square purple panel and used my paper trimmer to cut it away from the page. I then die cut away the center of the panel with the flowers to create two separate pieces - a border and a center panel.

I cut a length of embroidered trim and lined the inside of the border piece (notice the center of the panel is removed).  I attached the border piece to my card base and set it aside.

Next, using the image of the flowers from the center panel as my inspiration (just makes card making life so easy!!), I stamped, die cut and shaped six purple daisies using the stamps and dies from the Peacock Paisley Collection. I assembled the daisies onto the center card panel using the purple flowers on the panel as my guide.

I filled the centers of the daisies with white Prills.  Prills are a very light-weight pearly bead that are perfect for flower centers.  I like to use hot glue to make a little clear "mound" in the center of the flower, then pour on the Prills. Because they are so light weight, they don't weigh down the little mound and the center stays raised and round.  The hot glue stays warm long enough to add the Prills then dries immediately afterwards so there's no waiting for the glue to set.

To finish the card, I added a sentiment banner (cut from the paper collection) and a circle spray of pearls.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!! Be sure to check out the HC Blog today!  You'll see so much more creativity from the amazing Design Team!

Have a blessed week!
