My Favorite Things!

Hi Friends!

Today I'm highlighting some of my new MFT Stamps for a chance to win MFT's Guest Designer Contest!    The rules are simple, follow the sketch, post, and hold your breath!!  (LOL!!_

So here's the sketch, which I was originally verklempted about.  I finally printed it out, rotated it a few times, and suddenly ideas started coming!  So tilt your head to the left, (so wavy strip is on top and flag is on the left), and check out the results!

xMFT Favorite Sentiments, Graphic 45 DP, rag ball ribbon, Want to Scrap bling

This card features a newly released sentiment set called "My Favorite Sentiments".  The sentiments are big, bold and easy to use as the focal point on your card.  I love that!!

I traced a small envelope pattern onto Graphic 45 DP and cut it out, leaving the top flap open.  I stamped my chosen sentiment onto more Graphic 45 DP and inserted it into the envelope.  Those become my top two panels of the card.

The shabby ribbon I used is actually fabric that has been torn into thin strips.  A totally fun embellishment that my sister spotted for me at a local Antique store.  The assortment of 15 rag balls came in a basket and I just knew they belonged to me as soon as I saw them!!  I used it to make this "You Inspire Me" card for my sister for finding the ribbon for me!!

This card uses MFT's  new "Dienamics Airplane Greetings and Stamp Set".  This is about to be my most favorite thing this year!  The fun die comes in several airplane-parts pieces so you can customize your plane in lots of different ways.  The coordinating stamp set comes with stars and stripes to decorate your little plane and 21 great sentiments designed to fit on the little flag that can trail behind the plane!  Brilliant, I say!

I die cut the plane out of Cherry Cobbler and silver "mirror" cardstock. I stamped a stripe across the body of the plane in Island Indigo, and then a little decorative star from the set onto white CS.  I cut out my little round star and covered it with a round epoxy sticker, then stuck it onto the plane at the end of the stripe.  I assembled all the pieces of the plane and adhered them to a map with dimensionals.

The screaming lady in cockpit was an afterthought I couldn't resist!  It's a stamp I purchased from an Etsy shop "Papershow" that has the quirkiest little stamps, I couldn't help myself!  I posted another card on SCS using this "Hair Raising" stamp here.

TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Postage Stamps Card

Received a little bag of cancelled postage stamps that I purchased on eBay.  They're real, used with the cancellation marks and I couldn't wait to start using them!! Pretty good buy for $3.50, free shipping!!  Woo hoo!

I ran a couple of lines of ATG tape down the left side of my white card base, selected some of the stamps and applied them down the side on the tape lines.

Next I die cut the TH weathered clock die from Choc. Chip CS, glued it on onto the same panel, then ran the assembled parts through my Big Shot with a TH Distressed Dots EF.

I stamped the Fiskars sentiment and added the clock hands (which I colored with a bronze Sharpie).  Layered the panel with Island Indigo CS and adhered to my white card base with dimensional tape.

Love those postage stamps for cardmaking!! Happy Anne!!

Stamps used:  SU Flowering Flourishes and Trust God
Next, I had a chance to play along with this week's inspiration challenge this afternoon!  Stephanie found a fab site called Sugar Chic Baby with lots of color and pattern inspiration!!  Love it!

The colors of this fun "Serenity" headband jumped out at me and so I went with this item as my inspiration.

I stamped a flourish image with Chocolate Chip ink onto turquoise CS, then over stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with with white EP.  I added a sentiment, MS butterfly and some faux rhinestones.

TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

New Stuff!

Hello Everyone!

Happy July!!  Is everyone frying like we are here in Texas?!!

My first card is a combo of a new SU set called Bright Blossoms, along with some polka dotted Washi tape, and a hodge podge of sentiments from Hero Arts "Essential Messages" and Paper Smooches "Chit Chat".  I added a touch of bling rhinestones to the flowers and mounted the panel onto Cherry Cobbler and Sage Shadow cardstock.
Next is this quick card that I made by assembling a piece of DP from Echo Park's "Note To Self" 6x6 pad, a TH Rosette that I had already made that was sitting in my stash, some rhinestone bling from Want to Scrap and a Prima "Sculptured Flowers" orange rose.  The sentiment is from Verve's "Hope Blooms" set.

For this card, I masked off a section and added color to it by swirling on some SU Cherry Cobbler ink with an Inkssentials applicator (great tutorial here on how to do this!)  I over-stamped the area with Donna Salazar's Flower in Lace stamp with Chocolate Chip.  The sentiment is another one from the "Hope Blooms" set.
I added stickles to parts of the stamped flower for just a touch of bling.

Last is this card I made using SU's new DP paper called "World Spectacular".  I cut a piece with a wavy cutter, separated the pieces and adhered them with dimensional tape to a Cool Caribbean panel.  I stamped a Technique Tuesday sentiment in between the two pieces.  I mounted the sentiment to my block in a wave pattern to match the opening between my paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
