Cosmo Cards

Hello Friends,

I made these cards using basically the same supplies for both. Both feature Cosmo Cricket's "Togetherness" Mini Deck and coordinating chipboard stickers; both use sentiments from Woodware USA's "All Through the Year" sentiments set stamped with Versamark and embossed with Zing White EP;  the card base for both is SU Kraft, and finally, on both I added faux stitching with a Signo White Gel pen.

This first card is for "Sentimental Sundays" challenge to show dimension on your card.  In addition to the Cosmo chipboard bird and flower wing, I used a chip board On Board piece from SU covered with Cosmo paper.  I used the negative of the chipboard piece so the DP would be exposed under neath.  The brass "button" is actually a Paper Studios brad.

The second card follows the sketch from this week's "Unscripted Sketches" challenge.   I also followed the recipe from "Aly's Sunday Challenge" to use 3 DPs and 2 buttons on this card.  The buttons are sewed on with hemp twine to the DP panel.

All my new supplies came from my new fav store here in the DFW area -- Scrappers Boutique (HI STEPHANIE!!).

It's Party Time!

Love the inspiration website Stephanie found for us this week!! Check out Tadenberg - how fun and I loved reading the German descriptions!!

I chose this "Alfi Trinkflasche gestreift" (coffee thermos??!) as my inspiration because it looked like a good start to a masculine BD card to me. It took on so many transformations, but I think I'm good with it now!!

Started with some striped DP from the Love Elsie, "Josie" collection and textured orange Bazill CS.  I used my new favorite card size 3-1/4" x 6-1/4" (found a box of envys this size at Office Supply store) as the base.

I got to use a couple of fun Imaginisce finds (the flag string and stamp) that I got from a nearby Scrapbook store called "Scrappers Boutique" that I just discovered (oh happy day!!) . (HI STEPHANIE!!  Go visit Stephanie's blog!!)  Can't believe I drove down that road so many times and never noticed it!!

I stamped the image onto a Nesti label, sponged it and colored in the balloons with Copics and a touch of white gel pen.  Popped up the label withe dimensionals.

Added the flag string across the label using glue dots to position how they drapped across.

Finally, I attached some SU Espresso brown 5/8" grosgrain with a brad and ruffled it up using Michelle Woerner's technique -- easy peasy!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Green Cards!

 Hi friends!

Here's a couple of cards that I made recently featuring some Bazzill in green tones.

This first card was made for my dear friend Lou!  Her birthday was earlier this month. The sentiment is Verve and the rose is a Prima flower.  The bottom strip of DP is Basic Grey.

This second one I made for a couple of challenges but never got around to posting it!  So here 'tis anyways!  The Plaid DP is from my scrap pile, and I wish I knew he name because I really liked working with the colors.

The raspberry image is from SU's retired "Sun Ripened 1" set.  I colored it with copics and added faux stitching.

Have a blessed weekend!

DeNami Blog Hop! "For You!"

Hi There,

Thanks for hopping by for the DeNami Blog Hop!  If you came from Wendy Elliots blog, you're on the right trail!  If you want to start at the beginning or if you get lost along the way, click on the Blog Hop Badge up there on the upper right, or here to take you back to home base!

I have two cards for you!

This first card uses three of the adorable DeNami critters:  Penguin with Balloon, Turtle with Presents, and Chickie with Flower.  I colored them with Copics to coordinate with the Kioshi Basic Grey DP and textured Bazzil CS.  I used Basic Grey Thickers Alpha chipboard and a Maya Road chipboard frame covered with more Kioshi DP.

Then I have this really super quick card using Penguin with Balloon again and this time there's a button at the end of his string.

Could not be more fun and easy to design with these guys!

Thanks so much for dropping by -- now hop along!  Your next stop is:  Virginia Larsen at Ginny Lou

Mojo Christmas Card

Eeesh! Can't believe it's time to start on the Christmas cards.  But alas, here goes!!

I made several holiday themed cards this weekend but I'm only posting this one right now since it was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week and it's about to close!!  (I'm down to the wire here, I literally have less than an hour before the "Polls" close so I gotta make this quick!)

This is the sketch!  Fab, BTW!  I think this will be one I use for many more Christmas cards this year.  I kinda like it!

Here's a close-up of the hangy-downy thing for the sketch.  I stamped a snowflake from the newly released "Holly Jolly" stamps from My Minds Eye onto a Nestie Scalloped circle, added an eyelet and hung it to the bow with some red stripped twine.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo's "Warm Holiday Wishes" set.

The gorgeous DP is also from My Minds Eye new Holly Jolly collection.  (Thanks Fran!!).  All my supplies can be found at Frantic Stamper -- make it a habit to check out her "Newest Products" section and you'll see all the latest and greatest released stuff!!

Autumn Owls for the Challenges

I was checking out the Etsy Inspired challenge and found a cute Sleeping Owls Eye Pillow and that became the start of this Challenge Card!  As I checked out the different challenges for this week, I decided I'd use Autumn Colors on my little guys so I could link my card to some of the other challenges out there.

I knew I wanted little boutonnieres for each owl (this was a thought in my head since I first got the punch!) and pulled out the tiniest flower punch I had.  Using scrap DP, I punched a bunch of teeny flowers, pressed in their centers with my stylus pen to get them to curve upward and then layered 3 of them together for each flower.

I punched all the owls out in Early Espresso CS, and then used several different DP scraps to create vests for them.  I drew a line down the center of each vest, glued on some itty bitty mini mini buttons and added the googly eyes on their faces.

I mounted each onto a punched square and punched scallop square and let their feet dangle off the edges.  Attached them to my base card all facing a different direction and decided to stop there!

And here's the challenges that inspired this card:

Etsy Inspired"Handmade Whimsy" shop
Clearly iStamp:  Owls
Crafty Catz: Paper Piecing
Raise the Bar:  Orange Brown Green
All Sorts:  Colors of Autumn
Marks Finest Papers: Fall Colors
Pile it On:  Layers

Hugs and Prayers Poppies

I was inspired by today's IC over on Splitcoast -- Cost Plus World Market.  I know the store well so I was looking forward to choosing something to work with!  Not an easy task, everything in there looks pretty enough to be a card!

I finally chose these Shirley Novak "Amapola, Barcelona" prints - at first for the colors that popped out at me, and then because they reminded me of Nina Brackett's wonderful "Hugs and Prayers" stamp set that I got at Gina K. Designs! Yay!!  I love this set -- there's so many images and sentiments included in it that they all barely fit on the landing card that comes with it for storage.

I prepared a pallet for the flowers using So Saffron ink sponged onto a Nestie rectangle shaped layer.  I colored the solid group of poppies from the set, direct to rubber, with SU Markers and stamped it onto the rectangle layer.  I stamped my sentiment over the poppies and layered the image with black, white, and So Saffron mats.  I popped up the image with dimensionals and added a cream colored bow to finish.

Garden in My Pocket Card

Working the Challenges here friends!!

This is a pocket card for Flourishes Look Who’s 3 Challenge -- make a birthday card honoring Flourishes;   Flourishes Bring Back Beauty Challenge -- go with a "Rustic" theme, The Flower Soft Blog Hop Challenge -- use your fav color(s) Flower soft, and Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge -- Forgotten Embellishments: Buttons, Brads or Eyelets

The pocket card houses a book mark clip which I now think I should have made a refrigerator magnet.  But oh well.  I made the flower with Sizzix Flowers Die #2 and used a canvas brad by Recollections to hold them together.  I added a few fern branches made with a Punch Bunch fern punch for some greenery.

For my "rustic" theme, I chose the watering can image from ODBD Happy Birthday set, colored it with Copics and embellished with Flower Soft and Stickles. The little butterfly was punched from MS Butterfly trio punch in blue CS and covered with blue glitter.

I used "Heather" Flower Soft which is not only my fav FS combo so far, but it matched perfectly!

And finally, I also punched out a Trelis border across the back of the pocket card along with some more fern branches, which I attached to the trellis, to kind of give it a garden-style look.

Anniversary Gift

Hi All,

This is a small wall hanging I made as an anniversary gift for my sister and her hubby.

I first cut a coaster down to size -- just eyeballed it, then covered it with DP (by Me '&' My Big Ideas) and then I stamped it with the sentiment by Rubberstampede (which means I must have gotten it from Michael's!).

I painted a plastic refrigerator magnet clip that I got from the Dollar Store (4 for a dollar) with white acrylic paint and glued it to my covered clip board using E600 glue.  I covered the clip itself up a little more with more of the DP, then proceeded to glue on flowers, bling, ribbon and other embellishments I found in my craft room!

I added a chain of charms to the bottom from behind (they came on the chain and I just used a couple of nail-head brads to hold them onto the back).  Then covered the back up and it was pretty much done!

This ended up being pretty easy, I think because it was mostly a lot of glueing and it was such a small-sized pallet that it was easy to work with.

My Big Ole Flower Story

Hi Friends,

Today I was messing around making flowers with my punches and tried out one of the ones you can make with Scallop circle punches.  I used both the large and regular sized Scalloped circle punches from SU.  The flower came out pretty decent after snipping each scallop of all the circles into petals, joining them at the center with a brad, and then curving the petals.  Pleased with myself, I then decided how cool it would look if it shimmered.  And that was the beginning of the end of my pretty decent flower.

I took it outside along with my Smooch gold shimmer spray and stood about 12 inches away (I know, you're supposed to be about 6 feet away or something) and sprayed it.  Well, each time I pumped the spray, the plastic wrapper with all the info about the spray (which you can't take off or you lose that info) would slide up until it was shielding the nozzle and the back splash of the spray was now going all over my fingers and globbing onto my (formerly) pretty decent flower.   I finally stopped, left it there and walked to the trash can inside my craft room and threw away my silly Smooch spray.  BAhhhh I say!!

After awhile, my flower dried with it's globby shimmer and to me it looked like the poor thing had age spots all over it.  But I kept it, played with the shape of it some more and left it to sit and wallow in the misery I had caused it.

Then along came this week's Featured Stamper over on SCS!!  YAY Emily (aka Stampingout)!!  Emily uses big flowers on a lot of her cards so I selected one of her many gorgeous ones to CASE so I could make use of my formerly pretty decent flower.

I went with a shabby-chic feel for my card to make it seem like I did that aging thing to it on purpose.  (Uh, yah, that's right, I wanted it to look like that.)  Anyhow, in the end, it is going to be ok I guess and I have Emily to thank for that!!  Congratulations and thank you Emily!!

Blessed!

Hi Everyone!

I'm hosting the Inspiration Challenge this weekend and this is my card I made for the challenge.  The website I chose is "Elizabeth's Embellishment's".  Major inspiration over there people!!  Do check it out and then join me over at SCS!!  Post your card in the gallery and let me know you saw it here first!!  :)

My card was super easy to make once I chose my inspiration piece.  I found this fun "Just Let Go" embellished wallet.

I used S.E.I. suede paper in chocolate from the Autumn Assortment for the base layer.  (LOVE this stuff, it's a wonderful presentation IRL!!).

I then added chipboard from Basic Grey Kioshi, and Flower Wooleys from BG's Oliva and Sugar Rush collections to form a flourish on the card.

Lastly I stamped the Studio G sentiment "Blessed" in white pigment ink directly onto the suede layer.  Done!

All my supplies can be found at Fran's store "The Frantic Stamper".  One of the sweetest lady's on the planet!!  She does a great job of stocking the latest and greatest of everything crafty!!

I hope you'll check out the IC this weekend!  If not, have a wonderful, safe, Labor door weekend friends!
