Doodle Card for the IC!

Stamps: Kind Thoughts, Season of Friendship, Sweet and Sassy, Riveting. Ink: SU Black Classic, White Craft. Palette Canvas, VersaMagic Thatched Straw and Sea Breeze. Accessories: Zing White EP, Signo White gel pen, Black Copic.
Hello All! I'm hosting the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS this weekend (Keyword IC211)! I hope you pop over there and join in, I really love the website I found recently when looking for some fun inspiration for you!! The inspiration website is "FabulousStationary"!! It is filled with simple, clean and fun inspiration -- perfect for this busy time of the year!! I chose this piece as my inspiration, very CAS!! Loves it! For my card, I stamped the branch images in SU Black Classic and then I started stamping the solid circles. I worked a little on enhancing the colors of the circles because the colors sort of got absorbed by the card stock. So I first stamped them using water-based dye inks, then brushed them over with Judikins Mica Gloss (now they have a soft shimmer!). Then I stamped them again in chalk inks. When I was finally satisfied, I doodled around the larger circles with a black Copic to highlight them. Easy and fun! If you don't usually participate in the IC over on SCS, I encourage you to give it a try!! These inspiration pieces are fun, bold and basic!! Perfect for a busy holiday season!! Hope you give it a try too!! TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Holiday Cards Finale

It was like the fan was blowing in my craft room. Paper, stamps, glitter, stickers, ribbon, embellishments flying all over the place, stuff is still everywhere!! And somewhere under the piles, there are Christmas cards... These cards are some of the cards I made in my Card-Making-Marathon I held for myself this past weekend. The good news is I finished and they are all out the door!! Relieved, sort of, but at the same time, sort of sad it's over. (Sick sick sick, huh?) I forgot to photograph some of the others, but these are some of the ones I did remember to photograph. TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Presenting...March of the Moose!!

Supplies: THS Snowball Fight, VersaFine Onyx Black ink, Copics, BG Figgy Pudding DP, white, black, red CS
I watched March of the Penguins this weekend...again, that's like my 4th time. I love that movie. The first thing I'm going to ask God when I get to heaven is what the heck is the deal with penguins?? That movie always makes me wonder what the point of penguins is. Anyhow, on to the card... This cool moose dude is from Treehouse Stamps. I'm going to be on the Treehouse Stamps Design Team beginning Jan. 2010 -- WOO HOO!!! (but sorta already started) and this is one of the many images they sent to me to work with. Pretty excited about it...yay!! This moose is from the "Snowball Fight" set. I paper-pieced a "sweat shirt" for him (because it's cold out there in the snow!!) and colored the rest of him with copics. Added the little felt Santa hat from a pack of decorative embellishments I got earlier this year from Hobby Lobby. Any how, stayed tuned. More THS to come in January! TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Twelve Cardinals

Supplies: SU Peaceful Wishes, Verve Poinsettia (sentiment). VersaMark ink and SU Real Red classic. Marcos paper Red, Black, and white. Martha Stewart bird punch, Black Copic, Gold Krylon pen.
This card is made with the Martha Stewart bird punch that gives you the bird plus a wing for the body. It's just too cute!! I'm thinking in the Spring it can be a Blue Jay, right??! I used SU's Peaceful Wishes with Versa Mark and silver embossing powder for the branches. Punched my cardinals in Marcos Papers red. Then edged the pieces in black and drew on a mask. Then added a beak of gold with my Gold Krylon pen. Added a little glue to the bird and attached their wings. Assembled and ready for duty. TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Pearl Snowmen and Double Bow Cheating Tip!

Supplies: SU Textured CS in Blue Bayou, Soft Sky. Ink: SU Black, Blue Bayou (for sponging). Nestabilities, SU Pretties Kit, SU 5/8" DS ribbon, Martha Stewart Fern Punch
This is a little 3-1/2 by 4-3/4 sized card. The little snowman is made using graduating sized half-backed pearls from my SU Pretties kit. I punched a MS Fern from dark brown paper and snipped off a couple of the branches to make the arms of the snowman. I drew on his hat with a .003 fine point marker. Added the bow and a sentiment tag and adhered all the layers to a cuttlebug embossed snowflake base. Originally the bow was floppy and too big for the card, I didn't like it at all. I played around with it some and indented each of the loops so I could see what it would look like with shorter loops. The way I had indented it ended up making it appear to be a double bow. So I ran my ATG tape gun down the folds of the indents and it now is a faux double bow! The result uses far less ribbon than a normal double bow and it's easier to manipulate. TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!
