Hi! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! I'm hosting the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge again this weekend so I hope you pop over there to check it out! The website for the IC is Little Odd Forest. I loved the fun and whimsical style of all the items at this web store! I chose this bag as my inspiration piece. I went with the color scheme and flowery pattern. I thought about making an actual purse that would look like this, wouldn't that be fun?? But I've gotta a lot to do this weekend so I'm stamping and posting quickly this time. There are so many great goodies, there's bound to be something to inspire you!! Take a look and see!! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all gave a fun and safe weekend!

Joan Joan Joan!

Supplies Used: Image is "Splashing Maggie" from Sugar Nelli Stamps. Me & My Big Ideas DP, SU Pacific Point, Choc Chip, Rose Red, White CS. Large Oval and Scallop punch, Copics, sentiment is from SU "Mini Note Kit".
What a special treat today over on SCS!! Joan Ervin (aka Stamping with a Passion, Doubledog Dare and Belli sister, Dirty Girl Alum, etc. etc.) is this week's Featured Stamper!! Woo Hoo!! Go Joan!! It was such a pleasure going through her gallery, there were so many excellent, over-the-top gorgeous cards, that it was impossible to pick one. So I have many set aside for future cards! For today, I chose her "Dream" card to case. I love the unique layout and her use of ribbon and DP. I tried to keep the same layout, added a bow, changed the DP and main image, and used an oval scallop instead of round. Congratulations Joan!! Truly deserving of gallery attention and love!! Enjoy your week!! Oh oh oh!! And bonus -- this is for the DDC this week!! Francie G. is our host and she dared us to make a card and use anything water related! What a good excuse to break in this new Sugar Nelli Stamp!! Have you got something fun and "water related" that you'd like to use on a card? Create one for the DDC, upload to your blog or SCS (using keyword DDC) and leave me a PM so the Doubledog Dare gals can all see your card! We love for you to join us!! Thanks for checking in!!

Mother's Day Baskets and Wreaths

Hi There, Just wanted to show ya'll what I made my Mom, my 3 sisters, and my favorite Aunt for Mother's Day. I didn't photograph all of them, a couple of them were duplicates. These are based on the flower basket I made awhile back. You can find the tutorial here. The roses are quilled using this Spiral Roses Quilling Kit from Quilled Creations. All the punched flowers were made by various teeny flower punches and were pressed inward in the middle (while sitting on a mouse pad) with a small stylus. More details can be found on the original tutorial. Thanks for checking in!!

Inspiration Challenge

Hi there everyone! I'm the guest host for the next two weeks for the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS, and if you've known me for any length of time, you know this is one of my favorite stamping things!! The inspiration piece I chose for this week is this Home Office from Country Living Magazine. I was fascinated by the color scheme and mix of masculine and feminine touches through out. I chose Kitchen Sink Stamp 3-step Daisy for my card. I thought it would allow me to combine the multiple colors that are found in the picture. Looked like Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun and Old Olive to me. I went ahead and layered with those colors, but instead of Rose Red ink, I went with PTI Berry Sorbet for the flowers. The sentiment is by Stamp a Mania. So please stop by SCS for tomorrow's IC (I'll actually be posting it tonight around 10:00 p.m. CST) and join me!! I'd love to see your interpretation!! Thanks for checking in!!

Grown Up Maggie

Hi all! I've been away for over a week and I'm so behind on my stamping and posting. My plan was to schedule this post on "Grown Up Maggie" to post yesterday, but I messed up somewhere and it didn't post, so it's a day late!! I was in NM visiting mom for Mothers Day! And while I was there, got bronchitis and ear infections and lost my voice. I ended up at the Urgent Care on Mother's Day! Ughhh!! Anyhow, all is well, I'm home and taking one more day to rest (still can't talk) but the plan is to return to work tomorrow for one day of catch up there... Now back to stamping... This card if for the (now) bi-weekly Creative Belli Challenge. Chris asked us to create a card using the go-jus colors of Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, and Cameo Coral. So that was the easy part!! Then, I really wanted to get caught up on my Doubledog Dare Challenges and our hostess Joan, of Stamping with a Passion fame, wanted us to make a Mother's Day card and include an article of clothing. This was the not-so-easy-part!! I remembered some cute stamps I recently got from SugarNelli and found this little cutie! Her name is "Dress Up Maggie" so I embellished her with a grown up pearl necklace, a fun fuzzy boa, and a fancy dancy big-girl purse! This became my Mother's Day card to my mom because inside I wrote "I always wanted to grow up to be just like you!". Hope you are inspired to join in these fun challenges!! Be sure to head over to the Creative Belli Challenge blog to link your card so we can all oooh and awe!! Then check out what the rest of the creative Belli Challenge team did with this challenge! You can also upload to SCS using keyword CBC65. If you want to join in the DDC by making a card with an article of clothing, please do!! Leave me a comment with a link to your card so we can all find your creation! Or upload to SCS using keyword DDC!! There's no time limit, we'd love to see what you did!! Thanks for checking in!!

A Doubledog Dare!

By tomorrow I'll be about 3 weeks behind on my DDC cards so I sat down and stamped tonight to at least pull it in by one week!! My talented friend Julia's (aka Create with Me), stamper designer teacher extraordinaire hosted the DDC the week of April 20. She sent us a link to the cutest Two Scoops Digi image which is FREE to use from their website! I had started this one immediately because the little pup is so dang cute, and time just got away after that. I do that a lot, color an image, then can't figure out what I want to do with it on a card. So when I sat down tonight to mess around with it, I almost ended up starting all over again. But I finally settled on cutting it into equal squares and adhering the image pieces to black cs -- mosaic style. I still had the KC&Co. Que Sera Sera DP out on my desk from this past weekend so I found some that matched, ran it through my BS with the bubble EF and mounted the image onto it. I "spotted" the bottom border with faux yellow jewels, tied a little scrap of brown polka-dotted ribbon I had and attached it to the image with a mini-clip from SU (you can't believe how tiny those things are!!). Anyhow, I have two more to go...I'll plan to do more stamping tomorrow night! Hugs to all. Thanks for checking in!!

It's the Weekend!!

Oh yah!! Anybody else out there doing the weekend happy dance??!! I was so ready to stamp tonight after a long and busy week so I checked out the IC over on SCS and it was posted already!! Yay!! (I'm out for a girl's weekend so after tonight I won't be stamping 'till Sunday.) Stephanie (the IC goddess) is sending us to this website to browse the gorgeous Faviana Prom Dresses!! There's something for everyone so you HAFTA try this one!! Here's the gown I chose. (Because It looked so much like my new Que Sera Sera DP by KC& Company that I was dieing to use!) For the image, I decided on SU's retired (but never EVER forgotten!!) Petal Prints set. I used my Nestibilities to create the scalloped main image layers. I also used a bit of the coordinating Que Sera Sera adhesive border across the bottom -- but most of it got covered up by the Nestie layers. The DP had a butterfly printed on it and I didn't want to cover that up, so I ran an exacto knife around half of it so the scalloped layers could slip under it. I glittered up the salvaged butterfly with Dazzling Diamonds and finished off the card with some Kaisercraft brown pearls.
